Reclaimed scrap-wood and found object assemblage art by Kevin McCoy
Dimensions: 15.5" x 12" x 1"
About the Series:
This series is influenced by Kevin's background in traditional painting and art preservation techniques. In the Electricycle Series, he uses reclaimed wood and found electronics to create line drawings that celebrate material.
Materials: Circuit Board, Poplar, Pine, Red Oak, cherry, Walnut, Maple, Fire
Hanging Hardware: this piece is hang-ready, utilizing key-holes cut into the work itself.
A Note from the Artist:
This piece started as a way for to utilize cut-off scraps and save a few pieces of wood from the bonfire. (That's not to say fire doesn't have its place.) After carefully yet playfully gluing up
some organized randomness for the “plaque” I employed the trusty blow torch to help add some contrast under the featured object to get it to POP, and I was super happy with the continuity it brought to the whole thing.
